0 Insurgents, Marine Corps wiped out after strike on U.S.-British base

Coalition forces in southern Afghanistan beat back a deadly overnight assault around the U.S.-British military complex where British king Harry is positioned.

Two U.S. Marine corps and lots of insurgents died in "sustained" fighting, NATO's Worldwide Security Assistance Pressure stated. The Taliban stated responsibility, saying the strike was at reaction to the anti-Islam film stoking anger over the Muslim world.

ISAF stated the attack began around 10 p.m. when 20 insurgents transporting small arms, rocket-powered grenades and suicide vests treated the bottom perimeter.
