Libyan authorities stated that government forces had grabbed charge of Bani Walid, the final stronghold for supporters from the Gaddafi regime, following the city was under siege for 25 days. But sources within the town stated that militias now control the region.
An RT source has referred to violent images of militias wrecking houses with heavy machinery.
A guy named Faraj, who's presently in Egypt but is in touch with relatives in Bani Walid, stated that militias from Misrata, together with Islamist groups, were blockading the town.
“The militias have blocked and assaulted the town and civilian people. The majority of [the ordinary people] have run. The kids and seniors are screaming for food and medicine. The [militias] wiped out the folks and destroyed houses…and they used worldwide forbidden gases from the civilian people inside,” Faraj told RT.
Faraj also reported the militias assaulted the town’s electricity station and closed lower cell phone service.
Many western media shops have reported that government forces are behind the blockade - but Faraj states that's not true.
“Libyan government forces didn't attack Bani Walid…don’t think that it's government forces. This really is Misrata militias and Islamist groups,” he stated.
An activist from Bani Walid corroborated reviews that local armed militias had assaulted the town, not government forces.
“Our city is dying,” Afaf Yusef stated within an interview with RT. “It’s just military. Where's our legitimate government? They introduced a rustic of law, a rustic of justice. Where could they be? Why can’t we have seen them?”
“The situation is extremely difficult,” she added. “The city is nearly completely destroyed. Citizens are hidden within the boulders. Many one of the sufferers are children and also the seniors. You will find much more children compared to seniors.”
